Madras Independent Film Festival is a monthly contested international online film festival with an annual event held in Chennai. The winning film of each monthly contest will be screened at our live event with an overall winner chosen by our esteemed jury.
About The Festival Director
– Rathina Kumar is an Indian film director and Cinematographer. He is known for directing independent Tamil Feature Film “Surveillance Zone” Which is the World’s first CCTV Point of view film with a very low budget of 45,000 INR ,has got many awards and recognitions across the world. It’s a matter of pride that he won ‘Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records’ for the movie “Surveillance Zone”.
His movie was considered “inspirational to aspiring filmmakers” for breaking down the perceived costs associated with producing a feature film . And he was the Cinematographer for “My son is Gay” (Award Winning Tamil Film)
He started MIFF to encourage and support independent film makers and their stories from around the world. Our motto is to help the indie filmmakers find success by celebrating their achievements across the world.

Chennai also known as Madras the official name until 1996, is the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
